Admission Arrangements for Ribblesdale Nursery School

Ribblesdale Nursery School is a Lancashire County Council maintained community Nursery School providing high quality early years education for three and four year old children. The qualified teacher led sessions run from 8:45am to 11:45am and 12:45pm to 3:45pm, term time only (38 weeks in a year). We require children to attend for the whole of these sessions.

We have intakes in September and January. Your child is eligible after the term after their third birthday. However, if we have availability we may be able to offer some admissions in April and offer places to children during the that they turn three.

We offer either five mornings or five afternoons for the free 15 hours Early Years Funding. We can offer a small number of 2.5 days if available to use with your 15 hours but parents would need to factor in the additional cost of a lunch hour. We can only admit children in the school for a minimum of 12 universal hours but prefer children to take their whole 15 hours, so we can support them to be ready for the next stage of their education in Primary School.

We also offer the additional 30 hour provision if you are eligible.  Any universal or additional funded hours must be taken in the Nursery School over the 38 weeks, but if some hours are not taken e.g. you only use 20 hours term time, these hours can be banked to use in the Cascades Childcare for wrap around care. Any additional hours taken in the term time or wrap around care must be paid for.

Cascades Childcare is able to offer breakfast, lunch and afterschool clubs, plus a school holiday provision. You may use any unused funded hours in Cascades or pay privately if all or most of your hours are used term time only. Cascades childcare must be booked in advance.

Please do not worry if the times clash with Primary School drop off and pick up, as we are able to have some flexibility with drop off and pick up.

To apply for a 15-hour place or a 30-hour Nursery School place please return a completed application form and a parental agreement form with a document to prove your child's birth date e.g. an original birth certificate to reception.

We are happy to accept early applications at our very popular Nursery School.
