Ribblesdale Nursery School Governors

Helen Taylor (Chair of Governors)

My name is Helen Taylor and I am the Chair of Governors.

I have had links with Ribblesdale Nursery since 1994 when three of my own children attended and in recent years in my role as a childminder.

I have lived in Clitheroe for most of my life and have been a registered childminder for over 25 years so have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, Child development and hold a level 3 qualification as well as the Lancashire Quality Award.

I have a special interest in supporting children with special and additional needs.

I have helped with forest school activities and come into nursery whenever time allows.

Megan Whittaker (Vice Chair of Governors)

Hello my name is Megan Whittaker I was nominated as a parent governor and prior to this I had completed volunteering within the setting and attended some courses. I have three young children who have all attended the nursery school or will do in the future. This supports me to liaise with other parents at the nursery and find out their worries or concerns and to listen to any feedback they had. I wanted to become a parent governor as I felt I wanted to contribute to other children's experience in Nursery School and I wanted to add the parent perspective.

Clare Howell (Governor)

My name is Clare Howell. I grew up in Clitheroe and attended the nursery myself as a youngster, which I have fond memories. Both my children have recently attended the Nursery School.

I am passionate about children’s education and development and believe nursery school gives children a strong foundation to build on. My passion is what led me to becoming a Governor.

As a qualified and experienced chartered management accountant I have valuable skills and expertise to bring to the role and help make the Nursery school a success, at a time when nursery schools, like all schools, is facing increased financial pressure due to a reduction in central government funding.
